SUMMARY:Think with Your Head\, Prep with Your Hands\, Lead with Your Heart
DESCRIPTION:Think with Your Head\, Prep with Your Hands\, Lead with Your Heart\nPresented by Dr. Brad Guyton & Dr. Brett Levin \n \nAttend this course in person or watch the live stream! \nDid you know research has shown Emotional Intelligence is a far better predictor of success than IQ? Organizations with high emotional intelligence (EI) enable their people to perform to their full potential\, and it is a powerful element of effective leadership. In this 90-minute course\, we will explore the value of emotional intelligence and how it defines successful leaders today. The old mantra of command-and-control leadership is extinct and does not work for the long-term success of today’s dental practice and businesses. There are critical elements of emotional intelligence that every modern leader needs to recognize\, develop and implement. After attending this course\, the participant will be able to: \n\nRecognize the five elements of emotional intelligence and discover ways of working with EI that lead to better outcomes with your team members\nList tangible next steps to connect with your team in new productive ways on Monday\nDescribe your own personal areas of strength and opportunity\nDefine best practices in handling different behavioral styles of patients and dental team members\n\nLead by Brad Guyton DDS\, MBA\, MPH\, who serves as Chief Dental Officer for Delta Dental of Colorado and Delta Dental of Virginia. SUMMARY:MDDS Presents: HANDS-ON Creating Predictable Restorations: Crown Lengthening
DESCRIPTION:HANDS-ON Creating Predictable Restorations: Crown Lengthening\nPresented by Dr. James Kohner \n \nFaced with a cusp fractured below the gingiva? Prepping too far under the gingiva and not getting predictable impressions? Planning esthetic restorations in the anterior and facing uneven tissue or a “Gummy Smile”? \nCrown extension is one of the most commonly required procedures in restorative dentistry\, yet it is often underutilized. Enjoy an in-depth look at the evidence-based concepts and practical applications for clinical crown lengthening and learn how to enhance predictability for your restorations and impressions. Gain the peace of mind that you are current in your treatment planning choices. \nTechniques discussed include how to handle hard and soft tissues; proper surgical techniques; preservation of esthetics in the final tissue contours; and relocation of all structures that comprise the biologic width\, namely: sulcus\, junctional epithelium\, connective tissue fibers and bone. The seven-hour\, hands-on workshop offers the opportunity to practice these procedures on pig jaws and anatomically correct models.  The workshop is suitable for clinicians with any level of surgical experience who want to do some or most of their own crown extensions or want to know more about the subject. \nObjectives \n\nPractice how to make predictable impressions every time\nDiscover why some crowns come loose and how to prevent it\nLearn chair time-saving methods and profit-generating strategies\nIdentify the causes of red gum tissue around margins\nMaster diagnosing esthetic crown lengthening\nUnderstand the Gummy Smile\nBecome familiar with coordinating surgery with restorative procedures\n\nDr. James Kohner is a periodontist who focuses on the management of periodontal infection using non-surgical methods\, as well as being current on the latest procedures relating to surgical therapy. He has over 35 years in private practice and more than 20 years of teaching experience. \nContinental breakfast and lunch will be provided. \nDate: Friday\, March 5\, 2021 \nTime: 8:00am – 4:00pm \nRate:\n$499 MDDS Member\n$599 Non-MDDS Member \nCE Credits: 7 \nFormat: Hands-on \nRegistration Deadline: February 22\, 2021 \nCancellation Deadline: February 26\, 2021 \n2 Easy Ways to Register\nOnline – available 24 hours/day\nClick here for online registration \nPhone In\nAvailable Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm at (303) 488-9700 \nCancellation Policy\nCancellations will be accepted and are entitled to a refund provided they are received at MDDS by the cancellation deadline.
